Console

The GUI console(DinamoCon) is available for Windows environments.

The different applications that use HSM services have different operating modes and needs. Some may open a single session and carry out all the transactions within this session, others may open the session, carry out a one-off operation, close the session and start the process again, in a cyclical operation of opening and closing sessions. In addition, the conditions of the network where communication between the application and the HSM takes place can be quite diverse, for example requiring a greater number of attempts to establish a session. Other aspects such as session caching and load balancing can also be adjusted.

Various aspects of the HSM client library's operation can be altered by setting environment variables in the operating system where they run. Depending on the scope of the environment variable, the setting can be restricted to a single process, the user's scope or apply to the entire system and therefore be valid for all users and applications.

It is also possible to perform some operations remotely on the physical device(HSM) via the console. In the case of the CD, XP and ST models, you will need a smart card reader plugged into the station. For the Pocket model, no additional infrastructure is required.

In the top bar on the left, the console displays the station name and the name of the operating system user logged on in the current session. The lower bar on the left displays the configured IP address and HSM user name, and the console version on the right.

The configuration options with the console are:

  1. Local configuration
  2. Certificates at HSM
  3. Configuration for the cloud
  4. First time turning on the Pocket
  5. Remote Management

Info

The library's operating parameters are read when the library is loaded into the application. Changes to these parameters will be effective in the application the next time the application loads the library.

When it is loaded, the console tries to open an Internet connection to the Dinamo Networks servers to check the availability of new versions. This attempt is limited to once a day and the user can disable it completely if they prefer. If a new version is available, the user is notified and can start the update process.

In the system menu (click on the icon in the top left corner) of the console there are options for:

  1. Change the appearance
  2. Open log directory
  3. Check for updates
  4. Get information
