Base reset

Initializes (or re-initializes) the HSM database.

Authentication with the set of smart cards is required to start the process.

All partitions and objects will be removed. The relationship between the Server Master Key and the HSM will also be removed, and the HSM will be left in its factory state, including the user password master. The next time you authenticate, you can use the same M of N set, a different one or prepare a new M of N set of smart cards. See the Initialization section for the steps required to initialize the HSM again.

The service must be stopped (status bar indicating: Ready...).

The network settings are affected as follows by the base initialization process:

  1. Interface 1: remains
  2. Interface 2: remains
  3. Bond: remains
  4. Default Gateway: remains
  5. Routes: remains
  6. IP Filter: reset
  7. SNMP: reset
  8. NTP: reset
  9. Replication Binding: resets

Danger

It is advisable to generate a backup before proceeding to initialize the HSM database. This is a drastic and irreversible operation.
