Date and time

Manages settings for the HSM's internal Real TimeClock (RTC).

It sets the date and time by entering the month, year, day, hour, minutes and seconds. The HSM has an internal clock circuit, maintained by a battery and independent of the main processor.

HSM works with a fixed UTC timezone (UTC-0), and does not correct forDaylight Saving Time (DST).

Note that the time configured in the HSM must be UTC time, not local time. This detail is especially important for the correct authentication of OATH time tokens.

The first line shows the current date and time of the HSM, updated in real time.

The HSM service must be running to configure the date and time. Confirm the changes with the Update button.

If the HSM is part of a Replication Domain, the date and time information will be synchronized with the other nodes in the pool. This synchronization only takes place at update time.

The HSM can also be configured for clock synchronization via the NTP protocol with a reference source. See item NTP.

The RTC has an independent internal battery, so it continues to operate even when the HSM is not connected (power supply disconnected). The RTC's battery has an estimated lifespan of 10 years.
